The background is made up of three main sections:
The outer background is the section surrounding the page. It normally shows the "Ironpitt Filmstrip" and shows a dark grey otherwise.
The inner background is the section in the middle. It is normally black.
The box background is any secton inside the page that has a box around it. It is normally black with a gray outline. For example, this text is inside a box, so the background behind it would be the box background.
You can select a different background color for both the Inner Background and the Box Background. However, there are some times when you might want it to be transparent.
If you set a background color to transparent instead, you will be able to see the image or color of the background behind it. The page is set up in layers to make this work. If the box background is transparent the inner background shows up through it. The same works for the outer background showing up through the inner background.
Instead of using a solid color, you can use a background image instead on the Outer Background and Inner Background. You have several options to choose if you use an image:
The Image URL is the location of the image on the internet, if you choose to select a background from the Ironpitt library or from your own photos, this will be filled out for you automatically.
If you check this box, the background image moves with the rest of the page when you scroll up and down or left and right. If you uncheck this box, the background image stays in the same place with the rest of the page scrolls.
This options tells where the image appears in the window. For the Outer Background, the position is in relation to the web browser's window. For the Inner Background, the position is in relation to the center section of the page, where your profile begins.
The default option, repeat, makes the image repeat in all directions. Repeat-x will repeat the image only left and right. Repeat-y will repeat the image only up and down. No repeat set the image to only show up once.
Using any option besides repeat will cause the selected background color to show where the image does not.
